Check for frayed wires, loose connections, damaged or cracked plugs and replace immediately.

For extra safety, always switch off and unplug appliances and other items when not in use.

Always unwind extensions leads fully to avoid overheating and don't overload sockets with adapters or extensions blocks.

Test your RCD (residual current device/ trip switch regularly by pushing the test button.

Always use a registered electrical contractor to carry out electrical work.

Test you smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms to ensure they are working.

1 Always unplug after use hair dryers, straightener and phone chargers.

2 Replace light lamps with LED lamps.

3 Fit a timer on the Immersion.

4 Isolate garden lights from the main house lights with a separate mcb.

5 turn off all appliances after use.

6 Use lights with sensors in toilets to cut down coast.

7 Always use a safe electric registered contractor.

8 Zone the heating --Upstairs, Downstairs, Hot water.

9 Use thermostats to control the heating.

10 When you turn on the heating up stairs down stairs turn on the hot water as well this way you will always have hot water.
